I just read something interesting… if you’re feeling stuck and caught in a rut and you want change or growth then start doing things that will stretch you. When we can’t control or change the things around us then there is one thing that we can change…me. It is so easy to get frustrated and ‘bored’ in our walk with the Lord because we are not stretched and having to use our faith. Walking in Christ has got to be the most crazy, mind blowing (or heart blowing) thing there ever was. Yet, can we honestly say that it is? Maybe it is time to walk on the edge and see where He takes you. What do you think. I didn’t write this just to sound clever… I am really at the point in my life when normal is just not great – I want to see Him move. I am not looking for the run of mill answers… I want to hear your hearts. I really do.

I am reading a Wigglesworth message that reminded me of some truth and I have had to blog it – if I have become too satisfied with my comfortable life it is highly likely I have become less interested in ‘crying out’ to God. ”Crying out” really depicts desperation or high emotions. Rom 8:1 says that there is no condemnation for those who walk according to the Spirit. Walking in the Spirit means we have taken on a different life as we are no longer of the flesh because the Spirit of Christ lives in us – a NEW life. If we get comfortable with the world and lose the desire to ‘cry out’ it seems to me like we have settled for a life that is not ours anymore… like a person who has a liver transplant but then starts to drink again. Sickness follows. If we have called on Christ for new life then He has made a new and therefore it is required that a new life of seeking the source of our life is a must!

Let me know your thoughts and what God is putting on your hearts!

I mentioned this in the service this week and I may chew on it a bit more next week (we’ll see what the Lord says) but I find it interesting that Jesus seems to imply to His disciples that they should not reveal who He really was as His purpose on earth may not be fulfilled! I hope this doesn’t offend anyones way of looking at the Word but it does bring me to the realization that there is extreme power in really knowing who He is!

This has been a tough week physically and emotionally. Amy and I travelled to Kansas on Monday (9-10 hours of driving) for Ed’s funeral and then on Wednesday we had his memorial service in Yukon. Ed’s life was a testimony of his faith and how many lives he impacted. I was speaking to his mother who is 87 and wondering why he had to go and not her… not sure I have the answer to that. I know that God doesn’t see life the way we see it… death is not the end of life – it is the end of our time on earth. Ed is very much alive.

The early church realized that and that is why they would suffer and die before they denied Christ… We need to engrain this on our minds and understand that He is in total control even when we can’t see the end picture…He does. Romanian christians would be sentenced to years in prison for their faith…often their children left to the streets when both parents were imprisoned… what a choice! Too often today our family comes before Christ because we struggle to trust Him with the ‘big picture’. As we live Christ (not through church or habit but actually allowing His Holy Spirit to move through us) we will find our ‘world view’ changes as well.

I was at the Destiny Network conference today and heard a message on keeping the testimony of what God has done always before the people. This stuck with me as we forget too easily who were ‘really’ are saved by. We can become too satisfied with our salvation and not allow the Holy Spirit to fill us with His power to bring focus on Christ. Seems to me like it is time to let the Holy Spirit flood our lives and see His power flow into the areas of our lives we have become focused and limited by…

It doesn’t matter if we have been happy, sad, crazed, sane, perfect or imperfect He has been there. He’s always there – no matter what. I can come up with the most amazingly crazy eyed situation yet He will never leave me or forsake me. He loves me and He loves you unconditionally. A powerful thought in a time when we are so conditional.

What does it take to send the church viral (youknow like on youtube – a small video goes viral when it is viewed all over the world and takes thousands of hits a day)? I believe I know, but I want to see what you believe and then I want to ask you this… do you want the church to go viral?
